Reaching the next generation of Haitians is crucial to our mission; for they will be the ones
to carry the torches that we light today. To that end, we also celebrate and honor members of
this group by showcasing them on our site and in our e-newsletters. We know there are young
"prodgz" among you who deserve to be recognize. If you would like to bring one to our attention
please do not hesitate to email us.

| Mr. Jacky Poteau
Today, we get a great opportunity to speak with Mr. Jacky Poteau, president of the FATEM organization. Mr. Poteau, first left Haiti in 1987, but has never forgotten the Mirebalais community where he grew up. Currently, Jacky Poteau works as a Database Administrator for a Boston-based social service agency and holds a Master’s degree in Social Work. So, it’s no surprise that he would take his skills to assist Mirebalais in bridging the “digital divide”. For me and all the Prodg readers, this is a true testimony of what it means “to give back to your community”.

| Hertz Nazaire
Artist Hertz Nazaire was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1973. At the age of ten, Hertz immigrated to the United States and moved to Brooklyn, New York. He discovered his love and talent for painting during his years at Westhill High School in Stamford, CT. As an artist, Hertz is still evolving and learning his craft. Living with sickle cell has been a major factor in shaping the person he is today as an artist and a man. Even with his many challenges, Hertz continues to express himself through the medium of art and poetry. He is an inspiring soul who has and continues to make a mark in this world. His talent, courage, perseverance and spirituality are pillars of strength in which we can all learn from. Hertz has decided to take some time away from the spotlight, so Carline Gele caught up with him for a chat. |

| Nathalie Guillaume |

Few words accurately describe this talented artist who has been captivating audiences with her
musical talent, and her performances of music, spoken word and poetry. Nathalie Guillaume describes
herself as a "renaissance woman" and we couldn't agree more. Her activism is as well known in her community
as her passion for her craft. We look forward to seeing what the next few years will bring for this
young artist. |
